Located at the University of Toronto at Scarborough, this art space opened in 2004 with a roster of contemporary art exhibitions and a permanent collection of 1,300 pieces including works by Peter von Thiesenhausen, Ian Carr-Harris, Will Kwan, Fastwurms, Lynne Donaghue, John Kissick, Sandra Meigs, Shirley Wiitasalo, Toni Hafkenscheid and Doris McCarthy. Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and Art Gallery is a public art space operated by the City of Toronto. For 10 months of the year, the Cedar Ridge Gallery hosts a diverse roster of exhibits. From January to March, the gallery sponsors the Contemporary Art Exhibitions, five two-week juried exhibits featuring contemporary artists from across Ontario. Housed in a historic mansion, Cedar Ridge is surrounded by lush gardens and scenic woods. The main house features the gallery, which encompasses much of the lower floor. Innovative art exhibitions featuring a variety of media are held in the gallery from September to June. The upper floor of the house, as well as the adjacent Carriage House, consists of working studio spaces where engaging hands-on creative arts programs are offered for all ages.
One of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection comprising more than 40,000 works and featuring renowned Canadian artists and some international artists spanning 100 AD to present day. Toronto's third largest public gallery features contemporary art in photography, painting, sculpture, and design. Exhibitions have included original work by Leonardo Da Vinci, Piranesi, Picasso and more. On display is a growing permanent collection of 200 contemporary works with an emphasis on art by Canadian artists of Italian heritage. Mon to Fri 11 am - 5 pm, Sat 11 am - 4 pm.
The only museum in Canada devoted to ceramic art. Founded in 1984 by Toronto philanthropists George and Helen Gardiner to house their extensive ceramics, it is situated on the campus of the University of Toronto. Permanent collection and regularly scheduled exhibits. Daily 10 am -6 pm, open late Fri to 9 pm. Admission charged.
The permanent collection contains more than 10,000 textiles and spans 2,000 years and 200 world regions. The diverse collection includes fabrics, ceremonial cloths, garments, carpets, quilts and related artifacts which reflect the ethnographic, cultural and aesthetic significance that cloth has held over the centuries. This public gallery is located on the Campus of the Univeristy of Toronto and features art work on display in the following four categories -- Group of Seven, historical, contemporary and recent acquisitions. The Toronto School of Art commits to providing an environment for aspiring artists to acquire a visual arts education. Its programs balance traditional skills and contemporary practices. The gallery features an independent studio, fine art studio, digital media exhibition space and several open houses are hosted through the year. Hours Mon to Thurs 9 am - 6:45 pm, Fri 9 am - 4:30 pm. Open since 2004, this not-for-profit art space has an aim to provide a forum for social, cultural and environmental issues to be expressed through all media. Providing a space for artists to experiment, they jury about six new theme-based exhibitions annually. Wed to Fri 11 am - 6 pm, Sat noon - 6 pm.
Located in Toronto's Harbourfront Centre this unique art space served previously as a trucking garage and then a powerhouse building. Founded in 1990, Ryerson Gallery is a student and faculty run gallery programmed by the School of Image Arts which focuses on providing a venue for contemporary Canadian film, new media and photography. The Institute of Art and Cultural Heritage is a non-profit organization dedicated to education on issues concerning cultural heritage and to the promotion and support of modern art and contemporary artists.
Founded in 1976 this not-for-profit arts organization has a mission to grow recognition of craft and craftspeople by building a craft community and acting as an advocate. Crafts Council's retail and exhibition location The Guild Shop sells handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, textiles, hand-blown glass and wood objects. A series exhibitions is presented through the year. Part of the Koffler Centre of the Arts - an arts and culture centre. Art gallery programming is offered in the Koffler Gallery with changing contemporary exhibitions, the Loggia Gallery with exhibitions of photography on many subjects, student exhibitions, and more. There are also a fully-equipped ceramics studio, a stone-carving studio using pneumatic tools - the only studio of its kind in Toronto - and a paintings and drawings studio.

This cooperative of sculpture artists is dedicated to the education, promotion and exhibition of contemporary Canadian sculpture. Founded more than 75 years ago by some of the most prestigious sculptors in Canadian art history. Regularly scheduled art exhibitions by gallery sculptors and feature artists. Visual Arts Ontario is a non-profit organization that addresses the interests of artists of all career levels, as well as arts organizations and the art-interested public. The Visual Arts Ontario Gallery is a high profile venue in the heart of the Queen West Gallery District hosting an ongoing series of art exhibitions (about one or two per month). The first gallery in the City of North York in 1977, the gallery focuses on contemporary art and provides a monthly exhibition from September to May, with a mostly educational mission. The Ontario College of Art & Design Student Gallery is committed to the professional exhibition of all disciplines of contemporary art and design by students of the College. A program of curated exhibitions provides students the experience of mounting an exhibition. Wed to Sat noon - 6 pm.
Established in 1973, the Olga Korper Gallery focuses on promoting contemporary Canadian and International art. Painting, sculpture, installation pieces and photography are featured at this gallery.
Gallery Arcturus is funded and operated by The Foundation for the Study of Objective Art, a non-profit corporation established to promote the study of art. The gallery is a contemporary art exhibition and art education centre. Admission is free.
Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery promotes local, Canadian and international artists through monthly exhibitions. The gallery is located in the Civic Centre.

A privately funded but public gallery exhibiting contemporary works by the gallery’s owner, Ydessa Hendeles. Hendeles was named by the The New York Times as “a brilliant curator” and by ARTnews as one of the 50 most influential people in the art world and was the only Canadian on the list.
