Dedicated to selling and promoting contemporary Canadian painting and photography, the gallery’s objective is to create a welcoming and educational environment in which people can access challenging and cutting-edge artwork. Each month a new exhibition is scheduled and the gallery stores examples of work by exhibited artists. Located in the main lobby of the Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto this gallery sells a large selection of Inuit sculpture by well known Inuit artists. They also sell contemporary and classic paintings by popular Canadian artists. The gallery hosts a roster of varied art exhibitions through the year. Open daily.

Making Room Curatorial was founded in 2006 by artist/curator Heather Nicol for her production of the exhibition Making Room. It has evolved into a collaborative parnership between Heather Nicol and Barbar Kerr. Our Premise is seizing space outside of the paramerters of existing exhibition venues for the creation of "one-off", short-term, site-specific projects involving artists, performers, and musicians.

Located in Toronto's Harbourfront Centre this unique art space served previously as a trucking garage and then a powerhouse building. Gallery Neubacher is operated by artists Manny and Gerda Neubacher. In addition to their own pieces, they exhibit an interesting mix of established and emerging artists representing a variety of disciplines. Opened in May 2003 as part of the Distillery District’s community of galleries, restaurants and cafés, it is run by a group of independent Toronto artists. Located at 44 Ossington Avenue, just north of Queen Street West, this is a gallery/art shop featuring a variety of contemporary fine art and craft pieces created by artists from across Canada. Established in 1962, its one of Canada's largest commercial art galleries with three floors of exhibition space featuring paintings, sculpture, and works on paper, including original prints and photographs. The first gallery in the City of North York in 1977, the gallery focuses on contemporary art and provides a monthly exhibition from September to May, with a mostly educational mission. This collective of young professional artists was one of the founding galleries of the popular Queen West Gallery District. Artwork by more than 30 artists on display and for sale. YYZ is an artist cooperative dedicated to contemporary artists working in all media, and to providing a venue for the exhibition of their work through on-going programs. YYZ encourages both curated thematic group exhibitions and exhibitions by individual artists developed from open submission calls. Opened April 2006 with a mandate to exhibit objects, jewellery and painting. The gallery features an ongoing program of exhibitions in three exhibition spaces. The west gallery has exhibitions that open at the beginning of each month and the east gallery spaces open mid-month. Exhibitions generally run three and a half weeks. Opened in 1966 this established gallery displays and sells art by a select group of established and emerging painters and sculptors from Canada, USA, UK and Japan alongside art pieces by Canadian Native artists. A non-profit artist- and student-run centre this gallery is committed to the exposure of multi-disciplinary emerging artists in a professional context. With a mandate to build a bridge between art and design students and their professional counterparts they offer exhibition space for young artists. This artist-run centre for contemporary photography was founded in 1979 with a mandate to exhibit, promote and offer for sale photographic art. Located north of Metro Toronto, Gallery Phillip has showcased Inuit art for over 29 years. Director Phillip Gevik has made numerous excursions to the Canadian Arctic to meet artists and learn the lore, sculpture and printmaking techniques. Open since 2004, this not-for-profit art space has an aim to provide a forum for social, cultural and environmental issues to be expressed through all media. This cooperative of sculpture artists is dedicated to the education, promotion and exhibition of contemporary Canadian sculpture. Channel Gallery is the Distillery's newest spot for contemporary art that is varied and affordable. It is an artist-run gallery that focuses on integrating both traditional and non-traditional media with work rotated on a regular basis. Located in the Case Goods Warehouse, Building 74 Studio 109.

Located in the Queen Street West Gallery District this is a progressive gallery that features a variety of contemporary works by local, national and international artists. Regularly scheduled art shows. Open Thur to Sat.

Established in 2003 in the Distillery District, the Arta vision is to promote art in people's daily lives and replace drudgery with colour movement and life. Affiliated with Galerie d’Art Michel Bigué and Galerie Art Québécois both in Quebec, this is the latest addition to the group and opened in Toronto in 2000. In September of 1991, the Academy of Spherical Arts opened in the historical building where the Brunswick Balke Collender Company manufactured billiard tables, cues, balls and all manner of accessories. Today, the Academy occupies 20,000 square feet, approximately one sixth of the old factory. The billiard tables, cues, balls and scoreboards that were handcrafted here decades ago have returned at long last to their place of birth. Mon to Fri noon - 2 am, Sat 5 pm - 2 am.

Visual Arts Ontario is a non-profit organization that addresses the interests of artists of all career levels, as well as arts organizations and the art-interested public. The Visual Arts Ontario Gallery is a high profile venue in the heart of the Queen West Gallery District hosting an ongoing series of art exhibitions (about one or two per month). This public art gallery at the York University is well recognized and devoted to the presentation of contemporary art. Exhibitions are experimental and probing in nature. Dedicated to showing the work of Gay and Lesbian artists and a regular participant in public exhibitions. On display and for sale is sculpture, oil painting, watercolours and photography. With locations in both Toronto and Vancouver and a history dating back to 1965, the Bau-Xi Gallery is one of Canada's oldest contemporary art gallery's with an interest to represent contemporary Canadian artists working with paint, printmaking, drawing, mixed media and sculpture. Since 1984, Marcia Rafelman Fine Arts has developed an inventory of emerging and established artists from Canada, the United States and Europe, in styles ranging from the traditional to the avant garde. The Stuart Jackson Gallery is the oldest gallery in Canada dealing in antique Japanese woodblock prints, Ukiyo-e. Ukiyo-e, meaning 'pictures of the floating world', was the most popular art form of 17th -19th century Japan. 'Ukiyo' was a Buddhist term referring to the melancholy transience of life. The concept was punningly altered to mean the fleeting pleasures of everyday life. Ukiyo-e depicted these pleasures, primarily through the medium of woodblock prints.
