Punjabi International Film Festival (PIFF) – Toronto 2012 presents the best feature films, documentaries and short films from around the world on themes of Punjabi culture and identity. The Festival is dedicated to using film for its contemporary popular value and accessibility in order to reflect the diversity of the Punjabi culture internationally.
PIFF – Toronto 2012 provides an opportunity to heighten awareness of Punjab and Punjabi Diaspora around the world to audiences of all cultural backgrounds, and to present films in their original languages with subtitles, in an effort to break down racial, cultural and religious barriers and stereotypes.
Nothing gives us greater joy than coming out of a movie theater feeling we have discovered a new way of seeing the world through the moving image. Each film tells a brilliant story that will provoke thought, emotion and discussion. To capitalize on that we have worked to create an interactive atmosphere at each screening. We provide an opportunity to meet Filmmakers, Producers, Actors and Celebrities from across the globe. This is the one place where artists and the public come together and engage in a conversation about their number one passion.
