Toronto ON Travel Guide
Welcome to Toronto!
Long before it was the massive centre it is today, Toronto was an important trading hub. Today, Canada's largest city is a meeting place of cultures, business and art. Situated along the northern shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto mirrors New York City and consists of what was once six separate cities - Etobicoke, North York, York, Scarborough, Toronto and the borough of East York. The area was annexed into the City of Toronto in 1998, but the areas are still often referred to by their former names and maintain a unique flavour. The Harbourfront is a popular area in Toronto, home to entertainment venues, a lakeside walking trail and more. The celebrated CN Tower also beckons visitors to the enjoy the view from the top of this 533m (1,815 ft) building. A self-proclaimed 'Megacity', visitors to this metropolitan centre will surely never run out of things to do, see or buy.Tourist Attractions
